Looking for detecting partner in Redding CA

I need to find someone in or around Redding that would let a newbie tag along. I'm just new to detecting. I'm pushing 62 pretty hard and need to find someone that isn't in a big hurry. Any one around Redding , Anderson, Cottonwood?

edited to add: I have a Garrett 250 that I bought about a yr. ago but health has kept me from going out much.
 
I'm a good ways south from Redding - as hot as it gets up there in the summer, I wouldn't be much in a hurry except for the AC unit and the repeated trips to the fridge.
I don't know but maybe there is a detecting club within reasonable distance you could search out. Or possibly a local detecting dealer. Also, maybe a friend would be interested in starting the hobby. HH
