looking for a staight shaft for my excal

I bought one of those rear extension pieces and stuck it on the back of my GT shaft. I like the balance. But most of the time I just mount the coil on the Sovereign rod and hip mount.

If you don't want to make one and you want to buy the best made, I have them. The one black one piece only runs $89.95 shipped and the two piece travel rod is under $100.00 shipped. The three piece travel rod is $114.95 shipped.
I used the two piece on my Excal IIs the last couple of seasons and they are nice! Besides being well made they are balanced for easier swinging and less fatigue. I also had a two piece on my Beach Hunter 300 this season. The handles are superior and the cuffs are great. Lots of years of experience went into developing these. I have been selling them for four years. Another option is one of the hip mounts I offer and a hip mount rod.

Visit my website when you get a chance and check out the rods and stands I offer. I have them for most detectors.

Chuck - If I'm not mistaken, that rod you have pictured looks real similar to the custom rods made by Plugger. If so, it is a high quality rod. I just purchased one for my Sov GT and love it. The 3 piece travel Excal rod is next on my wish list.

Every Excal I've ever owned has been on one of these. http://demarcodetectorsales.com/html/Newprod/NewProducts.html
I like the shaft and it puts the control housing right where I need it for in the water hunting. Balance and durability are excellent. Here is a pic of one of the heaters on the Lightning Rod.

Only problem with those (if they are the same as before) is that the handle is welded to the shaft making it not adjustable
