looking for a place to metal detect.

It's getting tough to find new places to metal detect everywhere, I live in WV and that's our biggest problem.
I'm constantly looking Everytime I drive around plus asking everyone I come into contact with if they know of any good places.
Right now I'm having some luck by getting out to these rural towns where most people don't have metal detectors, the people are nicer and they'll let you metal detect their property if you ask.

Look for older maps of your area. Back in the day they included black symbols on the map for houses, churches, schools, etc. If you know your area you will spot a structure on the map and realize its no longer there. Find out who owns the property and inquire what they know about what was there. Like advised above the more rural areas are more likely to grant permission.

Here you go unbelievable site to discover areas to detect
