Looking for a new Beach MD

I'm in the market for a new beach MD. Looking at the Garrett AT Pro and Whites PI Dual Field. I may be in up to 5 - 6 feet of water at times. Any thought s would be appreciated.
Also recommendations for other MD's are welcomed.

I would highly reccomend the Minelab Excal or the Fisher CZ 20 or 21. IMHO The Pi machine is an excellent choice if you dont mind doing a lot of digging but, I think you would benefit as a begginer by having a detector with a discriminate setting (that differentiates between ferrous and non ferrous metals). I have heard good things about the AT Pro but, I havent used one yet. If you have questions dont hesitate to ask! The guys on here make up a great body of knowledge to rely on.

Thanks for the feedback. I like the Fisher CZ series and the Excal, but I really can't go over $800 - I should have mentioned that above. I have an Etrac and GT which are great but not submersible. I agree a unit with a discriminate setting would be best. I am new to beach hunting, been detecting for 15 years now. Not sure why I never went to the beach.
Thanks again for the feedback
Peace
Mike

I've done well with the DP Wader up to neck deep in fresh water.
You can sdjust the disc on it.
Not sure about the salt water DP does have a PI machine that should do well .( bought one for a trip planned to Jamaica in March )
I've seen used for around $400 to $ 500 range

Thanks for the commets Charles, I'll take a look at the DP series.
