Looking at the Tesoro Sand Shark?

Looking to buy my first PI detector for the beach and been looking strong at the tesoro sand shark. Anyone using this at the beach? how is the machine in the ocean compared to other pi's like the sea hunter? And last how have your finds been with this detector? I'm loving that the sand shark has a life time warranty.

Would not mind finding out more about this machine myself. I realize the Compadre is not the best around saltwater. I live only 28 miles from the Saint Augustine area and kayak loads of small creeks with sand beaches and loads of places to hunt. Nobody can really access those zones without a kayak or canoe. Fishing is great too by the way.

Love this machine, have had the sea hunter 2 and the infinium and this machine is flawless. Very deep and doesn't have the false reading in the water and wet sand that the other two have. I have about 200 hours on this machine and would't trade it for any of the higher priced units. You won't be sorry , i have the 10" coil wired unit.

X2, I've had the sand shark a year and a half now. Wouldn't trade her for any machine. She's not tempermental, easy to maintain, fairly easy to learn. You dig a lot, you find a lot. Great machine for the value, life time warranty.

yeah I'm coming from a bounty hunter tracker 4 so its my first pi! I believe my heart is set on this sand shark. The price and warranty is amazing :)

I bought one a couple of years ago and haven't regretted the purchase for one second.. this one paid for itself in about one season for me and I don't water hunt all the time.
Most of my finds have come from freshwater swimming lakes and a couple of goodies from the saltwater beaches.
If it's there and you go over it with the coil, you will know it's there.
The lifetime warranty was a big plus for me as well and I like the contols.. pretty simple to operate.. just about turn on and go.
Haven't tried any other PI machines and don' t plan on looking at anything else.. this one fits the bill for me.

Sand Shark is a good detector for the beach as long as there isn't too much in the way of iron targets to dig. You can learn to have a reasonable idea that you are detecting iron for some iron targets, but the only way to be sure with a pulse induction detector is to dig. I have hit a couple of hot sand areas where I had to work the coil very slowly to not sound on the sand; a couple times when encountering very concentrated streaks of black sand at various beaches and one time over an area of bright red sand at Daytona Beach. The Sand Shark is pretty much a set it once and hunt detector.

The really small iron flakes that my F75 sounds on and drives me crazy with are ignored by the Sand Shark so you are not looking at micro jewelry size detection. You won't find the very thin chains unless they have a good sized clasp or a pendant still attached, but the Sand Shark hits very well on rings, coins and chains with larger links.
Cheers,
tvr

Haven't been to the southern NC beaches; have been to the Outer Banks a few times with the Sand Shark. Not too much iron there for me. Found a couple of big lug nuts and busted off wheel studs as well as some goodies. There are some heavy black sand deposits as I'm sure you know. Just slow down and Sand Shark will handle them just fine. I really like the headphones on the Sand Shark. They are fairly comfortable and shut out a lot of outside noise compared to some others I've used. They do not whistle in the wind so you can go out and get sand blasted and still hunt and hear what is under the coil.

Remember--you cannot metal detect on Federal Seashores or they will confiscate your machine if caught. I was hunting at Hatteras and did not know that, when someone approached me and told me about that.
