Looking at Tesoro's? Help

Ok here's what I would like to know. Since I have an At Pro and like it a lot, I find myself wanting to hunt all metal in old old plantation and Battle of New Orleans sites. What is the difference between zero discrimination and to Tesoro's all metal. I know Garrett has zero descrimination but is that even close to Tesoro's all metal. If it's just the difference between motion and non motion I'm good with the Garrett. I also like some of the Vaqueros features but is it worth getting one. Please help me understand the big differences. I know it's a tough subject. I know depth is not a huge factor as all detector companies go about as deep as others and The At Pro can hunt trashy areas very well so what I'm really asking is, will the Vaquero be more confusing or will it help me find more stuff. I also know the difference between relic hunting and coin shooting. Please help me understand what am I missing in the At Pro that the Vaquero will solve.
Thank You

I think the Pro mode should do the job on the AT Pro, but I have a sneaky feeling the Tejon would be the better relics machine. The true a/m mode is preferred by most relics hunters. Motion a/m mode is continually adjusting for the ground while operating in true a/m mode operates from a set threshold and allows one to hear the ever so slight variations that could signal an extremely deep target. IMHO.

The vaquero will make you use your own judgement (very refreshing sometimes) as to dig or not, screens and tones can lead you astray sometimes as I'm sure you know, especially with deep targets. I dig N.O. city park mostly, with that mild ground it goes deep.

I hunt City Park with the At Pro and so far no luck. Is it hard to tell a good tone from a screw top or do you just get a solid hit and dig everything?

I don't hunt all metal, disc is set just below nickel and I'll dig the solid hits. When I get tired I'll grab my tid machine.

If you can go with the Tejon. It is crazy deep in all metal and was engineered as a relic machine.

....or, save a few $, and go Vaquero... I bought a Tejon first and do like it very much. Then I bought a Vaquero...and like it just as much. My Vaquero seems to go as deep as the Tejon, is lighter, and cost less. My suggestion is get the V with the 11x8 dd coil, and spend the $ saved (not buying Tejon) on an additional coil; the 5.75 dd or concentric. ^_^

Man all the machines they offer look great!!
Funny, in my head, I see how great the compadre is and considering that each level past that seems to have more good stuff!!!
I start by looking at the silver umax and say... "well for 60-80 more I can have the cibola".... then saying " for 60-80 more I can have the ou tlaw or vaquero" and so on.
Each one is geared towards certain use. I always end up at the Tejon and wonder if I need two discs lol, but it would be nice!!.
I think the only way I'd be happy is to have them all!!! Lol
I know I'm crazy but that's what goes on in my head...
Def would go for the vaquero if you have the funds or even the Tejon, but I've seen the super tuning power of the vaquero on many youtube vid and wow.
Good luck in your search.
Remember the lifetime warranty, which is insane to begin with!!! Love it!!

The two-disc feature on the Tejon is one of my favorite parts. I leave disc 1 just before the nickel setting where it will still hit nickels, and disc 2 set at tabs, where small square tabs start to break up and sound a bit clicky. If the target still sounds good at disc 2, then I usually dig it. I need to decide if I should dig at disc 1... Rarely do I find nickels there, usually just a wad of foil. ^_^ The quick toggle between between disc 1 - 2 and pinpoint (all metal) is really handy. Maybe I just got a weak Tejon, as it doesn't really seem any deeper than my Vaquero.

Yes, the toys Tesoro makes are pretty adictive. I have three right now, but could make room for a couple more... ^_^

I have had the Vaquero and Tejon. I still have the Tejon and feel it is by far the superior relic detector that Tesoro makes. Some say the Vaquero is as deep as the Tejon, well I beg to differ. Once you truely learn the Tejon, it's an animal and will keep up with much more expensive units out there. Plantations = Tejon!

In my soil, I see their depth as nearly the same. Lots of minerals, I guess. I'm in central CA mountains, BTW.
