Yeah, when I broke open the clod of dirt and was faced with the bottom of the Tradition watch with all that gold looking up at me I thought I had finally scored the big one. Pretty promptly I spotted the 10k, but couldn't read the R. G. P. until I got home. Rolled gold plate. Oh well, maybe next time. Actually the watch has a little going for it. 17 jewels and swiss made. Got part of an old compact, 3 wheats, 2 ringer and a bit of battery money. Chris and I hit an old park this morning and he scored the best coin, a pretty 1868 I H cent. HH jim tn

The weather forecast on the net called for 100% rain starting at 9:00 o'clock this morning, so I took the day the off from detecting. It didn't start raining until around 1:00 o'clock. I'm not happy with their forecasting. Jim I knew you'd be out there swinging.

Nice hunt, Jim! Hmm, is rolled gold the same as gold filled? I've read that gold filled items have some value (Aragold,etc)...or maybe a watch repairer would snap it up on eBay.

William, I believe I read that there is even less gold in rolled then in filled. That being the case, the watch probably owes me money. HH jim tn
