i dont post alot of my finds, but wanted to this time. i went to my brothers old farm house that ive already been over a hundred times and found this old silver plated spoon and what i think is a brass sleigh bell size 15. i have never found a sleigh bell so anyone know and history on these. its in very good condition with no cracks. thanks for looking. oh yeah, i found it with the silver umax at about 10 inches deep. also found several coins at 8-9 inches deep. my brother was in shock over the loud tone at such a deep coin. his ace 250 would not pick up any of the coins that deep. i thought for sure it would. we even tried his ace set at all metal while i never hunted with my disc set above penny. i was only looking for the easy coins. i have to go back today to cut out a very large root to see what this very smooth silver sounding signal is. i will report what it was later today. the bell measures 3 1/4 inches wide

Congrats on the find Basstrackerman,

HH,

wish I could help with information for it but the web site I had that listed old bells no longer is available. Sorry!

Nice find.....I have silver uMax also and i'm getting really excited to get out there and start swinging......Can someone give me a quick idea how to tell plated silver spoons from real silver spoons and where to get information about their values?

So what does that tell you about the Little Yeller Feller?

That is a nice sleigh bell... I googled it once and found all kinds of information on them.
You'll most likely be able to trace a nice one like that...
