I planned on getting my gold coin appraised, so I wrapped it in a tissue and put it on the dresser next to a gold ring..I went to pick it up today and only my ring was there........ "HONEY ... did you happen to throw away a tissue from the dresser??? Yeah,, it's in the garbage can ,,, why?? She came in a few minutes later with a smile,, here it is.
Her excuse....... Your are always leaving stuff laying around.
OK ,, Maybe,, but ya would think a gold coin the size of a quarter would weigh a little more than a tissue...Welll I didn't tell her that..at least not out loud

still can't understand why it was with the "junk pile" of mail :smoke:

I found it the same day i found my first minie ball... I think I was more excited about the ball. I suspect it was brought back from France after WW1.

Being in the jewelry business I wish I had a quarter for every story that I heard about some little old lady putting her diamond rings in tissue or T.P. only to throw them out or flush them down later when she was cleaning out her purse. It was a daily scenario. After all, if you were to pick up a "used" piece of tissue and it seemed to have a little weight to it, would you really peel it open to look inside ! GROSS !!
