Hi, I've been reading the forums, mainly the Tesoro one for quite a while and I was hunting a turn of the century general store location in Gonzales county (South central Tex) today and i found this old decorative piece and I figured someone here must have an idea of what this is, the pattern is the same on both sides, with no wear other than the tang that is shorter on one side. It looks like copper, and the Eldorado ran it up high on discrimination. Other than that, found some railroad related items as there was a railway about 50 yards away from the location. It's all cow pasture now, and been that way since at least the 40's, found two pennies, 1938 and 1919.

Thanks for replying SD, I was thinking a handle to a jewelry case or a decorative cabinet handle, but didn't think about it
Having been plated.

Looks like some I have seen on bowls. In fact I had to have one silver soldered back on. Always glad to help. Others either agreed with me or were stumped like I am sometimes!!
