long handled scoops

ROADKING

New member
Wife and I was needing long handled scoops we was sharing one short scoop between us .So I priced two new ones I could not believe what they are getting for one.So I went to a welder I now and asked him to build me one. He had left over 6" aluminium tub from a project he was doing and it wasn't long enough to do the next one and was going to have to get more.So I asked him how much to build me one if I drill there holes 12 Dollars a piece I ordered 2 long handled one and 2 short ones.I used to have a shop so I know how easy it would be to do this . The moral to this if you need a scoop I would check with your local Welder before paying what they are getting for them in the store there are plenty of welders looking for work and would love to do the work.I was one many years ago. I would gladly have paid him 3 times that but will tip him for the work he is doing PLUS they are American made .I guise I said enough.

Depends!

Here in low income Yonkers I once needed to fix a splited weld stich on my aluminum scoop. Four or five inches long I guess. He rewelded the stich and charged $60 (sixty) US.

Congrats on your good luck!

HH! to you and to the beautiful lady on your side!

Thank you Micro .That"s just not fair that is price gouging and taking advantage of you I would not be happy. Happy diging and look forward to hearing from you .Roadking
