Long handle Shallow Water Scoop - I need help !!

I need some good advise!

I am in the market for a good shallow water long handle scoop for hunting at the beach in the water along with my underwater detector.
Question: What Type brand manufacturer do you guys use? I am thinking stainless steel, 47-48" overall length. About 6" in diameter. A mesh screen at the bottom to catch the smaller items, with 1/2" holes. Price range about $145. An additional handle near the bucket to help bring up the bucket.

You pros out there am I thinking right? How about flotation of the scoop and maybe a tether on the end? How do you guys rig the scoop and is the mesh screen a good idea. Sorry about all the questions. Thanks Marty

i'm selling 1 on ebay long handle 7"wide 9"deep 1/2 inch holes but no mesh on the bottom cashbum26 on ebay

and i include backsaver handle here is the linc http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280586826870&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Marty, I feel like Goldy Locks with my scoop experience one is too small, one is too big and the third one is just about right. I am having one made up which in fact will be my fourth:ranting:
1) my first scoop was the light weight screen mesh travel scoop for soft sand, not suitable for heavy duty wet sand work only the dry fluffy sand
2) next I bought was a Nuttal scoop, well made floating handle great for rough water or heavy digging in and around gravel tooy heavy for wet sand and dry sand work
3) third scoop I ordered from Kellyco is a Riley's travel scoop, I described my needs and the sales person who said "I know the scoop you need". I waited for the arrival hussled of to the beach, loved the weight, quality but the scoop size is a little small. I felt ok as I know Riley's has one with a scoop size slightly bigger, guess what Kellyco does not return on scoops. I explained I had only dug 25 holes the paint was not worn off and the bar code was still intact, no joy.
What I suggest, if possible "talk" to some beach guys and "see" what they are using and dig ten or so holes. When I beach hunt it is usually 4 -5 hours with out a break, weight, length of handle ansd scoop size all add up to making a day of it working harder than you have to.
The above scoops all do the job required, as a prospective buyer it would be nice to buy right the first time and save having to pull a Goldy Locks :detecting:
Marty, the above is JMHO HH Gerry

Thanks Gerry,

I am thinking of the scoop located at the url above. It is 9.5" wide light weight and uses a wooden handle. It has a 1/4" mesh to catch the earrings. Check it out and let me know what you think. Marty

i have one of those just have to find a wooden handle that a little lighter than what i have now ...but i got it 4 much less money on the MDs accessory selling forum

I use the smaller medium size one in armored bottom lakes. Works great. I have another one that ties with it for 1st place, that I had made.
