Long disappointing day..........

BAD day yesterday..drove an hour plus north of me to an old ballfield I found on google earth, got there only to find every gate was padlocked shut on the field. This is unheard of in my area, and this was a little podunk town of 2,000 people. Tried an old school, got two wheats, and some clad. Then knocked on some doors, got permission for a late 1800's home and after an hour we could tell this place had been hit hard, not even deep iffy signals, no low tones, virtually nothing. I managed to get one deep iffy indian signal and pulled this lil gem out, details are awesome......saved my day, but for an 8 hour hunt and a lot of gas spent it was a disappointing day to say the least!

There's probably a lot of people on this website that would be anything but disappointed to go home with an Indian especially as in that good of condition.

Me for one! Went out last Thursday to several places..........didn't even get a wheatie.........just some clad & "iffies" that didn't pan out! Some days are like that.....that's why I can hardly wait for Fall, to get back in the fields!

I wish I could forget all the bad days I've had this year. Did some soul searching and it wasn't hard to see what needed to be done. G4E I've read your site forwards n backwards including knocking for permission. With two prospective spots weeded in and crops in the fields I finally realized I need to grow some and knock on some doors. One home, two hunts, five hours, three silvers. Only did the front yard. Yeah I know I'm not very fast but only been on the Track going on forty hrs. Love TTF and getting more confident with the ETrac. Got two more prospects tonight by just calling people I know. It helps living here my whole life.

maybe so, but with price of gas these days and 8 hours of swinging, its hard to not get down!

Very nice indian head penny. Great detail.
One guy in our detecting club who is very experienced said he once put on 1500 miles in a weekend and ran into some
very difficult sites and only managed 4 wheat pennies for the whole trip.

That is a nice Indian! I have only found two and they both were eaten up by our South Carolina clay.

Indianhead look like brand new and dropped 114 years ago. I would be happy if I find one old coin! I don't find old coin every time I go out to metal detecting! I found 1901 V Nickel two days ago then I went back yesterday and found 57 cents clad!

I have been there many times, you can't win them all!

Had one of those last week. Haven't been hunting latetly because of heat and the 220mi rt to get to Barberville. Anyways...last week I went to Barberville again, hunted same neighborhood I've been working (and doing real good!), hunted hard 6-7hrs, 64 coins, and not even a single wheatie....???? I was starting to think a guy couldn't get skunked in Barberville on silver....much less wheaties......so much for thinkin.........
