Long Beach,CA

Does anybody here have any suggestions for a rookie going to Long Beach,CA? I plan on sweeping the beaches there. I currently own the stock 9.5 whites coil with the MXT. I might buy another coil but beach hunting will not be a norm for me. Thanks for any thoughts.....Jim

jim, i live in long beach & only been really beeping
for about a year, i use a ml quattro stock 10"dd and so far i have been able to find some cool stuff, from GOLD& DIAMOND rings to standing liberty quarter (cant make out the date) and all kinds of misc. silver rings, jewelry.buffalo nickles, mercs, etc. most of it on the beaches. originally i bought another minelab to do some nugget shootn but cant seem to get out often enough. but i have a blast here. no restrictions here no permits but i allways cover my holes i like the way the rules are here (none) so i want to keep them this way. are u moving here or just passing thru? good luck to u jim maybe ill see u out there. diggitdawg.......

Other than Long Beach you also have Seal beach, Huntington Beach, Bolsa chica State beach....... all within 30 minutes of each other..........also note that we have the metal detector's worst 2 words here .... ........Black sand ........ so if your VLF detectors acts like a coo co clock on the wet sand / water ......... that's why....you should do fine on the dry sand .......

I will be out on Friday afternoon as it's just to darn hot in the Mid-day .......I'm easy to find as I'm the one with the yellow PI & shovel digging 2 feet holes looking for bobby pins ...
