...paid in full!! I had posted awhile back that Brian's plastic surgeon quit accepting insurance and we would only be covered 50% out of network. We appealed the insurance company requesting they pay in network but the surgeon said he wouldn't accept it anyway because he has to write off too much money on certain procedures. We haven't found a replacement surgeon yet and don't have time anyway because his surgery has to be done soon and there just wasn't enough time to line one up. We want it done locally and there is only one other cranial-facial surgeon in town that will work on children and he asked us to send him Brian's history before he would even have a consultation with us. The surgeon we use now required a $500 deposit before he would schedule the surgery and then an additional $1500 two weeks before surgery. Carol called the surgeon and told him that no matter what we wanted him to do the surgery and that somehow we would come up with the money. The next day the nurse called us back and said thay had scheduled the surgery for March 22nd. Carol said that wasn't possible because we hadn't paid the deposit. She told Carol that someone had taken care of the deposit and that we were in their thoughts and prayers. Wow! What a blessing!! God moved in someones heart. Then 2 days ago my dad said not to worry, they would pay the $1500 and when I objected he flat wouldn't take no for an answer. My pride makes it hard for me to accept gifts like this, I am the type who believes in carrying his own weight so maybe this is God working on me. Then, this afternoon my mother-in-law stopped by and said she and my father-in-law were going to give us $1000 towards the surgery. When we objected she said that that was what they were going to do and that was that! When we mentioned paying her back she said no, because it is a gift!! Immediately my prideful side started calculating what I could sell to come up with the money before thay had to help out. But, would I be taking a blessing away from them by doing that? God has provided the funds to cover Brian's surgery.

He will have two surgeries at the same time, the first shaving the tumors in his cheek bones and the second on his lower jaw and the new tumor growing under his chin. They will also remove his last two front teeth. Tonight he saw a denture cream commercial and asked why we couldn't get him dentures. Lately he has been asking a lot of questions about his tumors and if anyone was trying to find a cure. Tough questions with no answers.

I'm sorry this is so long but I just wanted to share our story of God's abundant grace during our time of need. And He met our need.
As always.

Thanks for your prayers and God bless!

Doug

Doug - That sure is good news !
As an older parent I will tell you what is happening with the gifts. If it were me I would want to give the money to my son and family so as to be a part of the whole procedure. I, also, am not one to want gifts but in this case it is so personal to all family members that it would be a poor thing to not accept their help. They will feel part of the healing by doing this. Steve in so az

God uses people to do His work all the time. Accepting the gifts from family is just like accepting them from God Himself. Not something you can refuse :)

Glad everythings working out for all of you!

Swollow that pride and don't deny someone the chance to bless you and your family! God bless you all! :)

Believe by faith and God will meet our needs! He knows them before we do and, although He wants us to ask and praise Him, by depending on Jesus and trusting in Him, God will move on people to meet the need, when He knows our hearts are in the right place and without greediness or laziness! By His Holy Spirit, He reveals to others and then by their listening to the Holy Spirit's leading they meet the needs of others by blessing them and then in return they are blessed!

My prayers are with you for God to guide the surgeon's hands and for a complete and quick healing for Brian! Giving God the praise for your blessings pleases Him and gives Him honor and glory, for great things He has done and will do! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus!

God Bless!
Betty
