Lone Star Detector

The local pawn shop has a used BH Lone Star in the rack. They are asking $70 for it. I checked Fee-Bay completed sales and they sell for $80 to $100 range in used condition. If it works as it should do you think $60 is a good offer or should I just pony up the $70 and be happy? So far I have bought a Tracker IV, a Pioneer 202, a Pioneer 505 and a Garrett Money Hunter but never paid more than $50 for any of them. Obviously I don't need another but you know how it is, I can't pass up a good deal! Let me know if anyone has experience swinging this model and what you think of it.

Never hurts to try to haggle...Offer the 60, then if they do not accept, do the 70 and be happy in knowing you got a good deal...

Offer what you said you have nothing to lose .Good luck !

Hello.I have the Radio shack sister machine(Discovery 2000),It's a great machine.I have owned many top models(GTI-XLT-CZ) and can honestly say, this little "cheap-o" unit can hang. This machine with the 4" coil is deadly. The only downside is slow recovery speed, does not like to be swung fast, and the internal volume setting is a little low. In the days before wife and kid,I had the money to spend on the "better machines" I am more than happy with this one.
