Lone Star and Head phones

Does any one use the Lone Star with the Bounty Hunter head phones? If so I would like to ask a question on that particular setup please

I use Bounty Hunter headphones on the Lone Star and the 2200.

Yes, I have used the headphones that came in a package. they help on windy days and when the tones are too low.

ok guys , here's my question.I was wondering is there tone in each side of the head phones on just one the cord side? I am almost deaf in one ear and cant hear in the other . I havent used this much, and used the headphones since I got the MD. This morning while I was out I kept getting pull tabs and not much else but a lot of false signals. It sounded as tho some times it was stronger on the side with the cord than the other side then at times it sounded almost stereo then at times quieter in the one side with the cord. Then I moved to another spot 20 miles away and the tones sounded normal as if in both ear pads. I cant see a wire between the two so I am assuming it is on one side only . But just the way it was sounding at first I was wondering if it could be the machine or me or was there something there I wasnt digging. At first it was low sounds and being in a city park at a softball field I was assuming it was all pull tabs but wasnt digging them but the sound , sounding different . Can any one explain some with some help ?
And I might add . At the second place as the sound was seeming to be normal. Right after the "beep" or sound there seemed to be a split second woooosssss sound or kind of a very faint echo or something . What was that sound ? Or again was it me . The 'echo" sound was mainly on pull tabs in a very red rocky wet Arkansas dirt. I hit some coins and pull tabs on a rock drive way where the rocks were 1/2 to 1 1/2 size. with the dirt under neath about 4 inches. I didnt notice the echo sound there . Clue me in

The headphones are stereo, so there is a tone on each side. When I plugged them in for the first time, only the corded side worked. The problem was that either the headphone wasn't fully plugged into the adapter or the adapter wasn't fully plugged into the detector. So, if you only get tone on one side, check the connection.

False tones sound "thin" and good targets have a "full" sound. The tone is so different, you know when you're on a good target.

I haven't noticed the "echo", but I'll start listening for it. That would be a good tool to have.

The soil around my house is sandy (river bank/flood plane) and the the local park is all land fill. I've been pulling 24" sections of 1/2" copper tubing, 5" squares of copper plate, brass valves and a few dimes and pennies from the soccer fields at the park.

OK...I do not own the Bounty Hunter headphones, but if you have to use an adapter to convert a 1/4" jack to a 1/8" plug...make sure your using a STEREO adapter...A mono adapter is not going to give you stereo (both sides). Also...this adapter is a point where the connection is week, and as you swing, the connection goes tight, then loose...I tape my adapter and plug connection together after I make sure it is tight...this keeps it from flexing and changing sounds. In all reality, the sound is going to be slightly louder on the corded side of the headphones...The human ear should not be able to detect the sound difference though, as it should be so small, that it does not really matter....

Hope this helps,

I use Bounty Hunter Headphones... and since I have started using Headphones my find rate is
much higher then before. . The stereo lets me hear even the slightest hint of a tone... you can adjust
each ear higher or lower whatever is best for you
But for myself it keeps my concentration level high and the outside noises out

Ok, thanks I cant see where there is a wire between the two. I have read here some head phones go all the way up to whatever price you dare to pay for them ,If I am remembering right I think the cost on mine to begin with was only like 26 $ but it sort of came with the unit. My hearing is terrible as I said . Sometimes I can hear distance sounds and cant hear close up then its the other way sometimes. Plus the fact I have a constant noise in my ear which the Doctor says is Tennitis or something like that and cant do much for it other than some surgery . But it sure sounded as if it was stronger in the corded side at first , but come to think of it I did unplug them and put it together agian on the second site. So maybe it was the plug not being tight. Also on the set I have I cant see where one side can be adjusted higher than the other side , mine has a voume slide in the cord with a clothes clip on it . But going to check it out .
Thought about going over in the nieghbors pasture this morning and messing around but big time rains last night but a damper on that idea . The rocks in the drive are floating away and supposed to be snow tonight

Hey leesumm where you from? Your description of the weather sounds just like what is going on right outside my door. I am in NE OK.

If your volume control is in the cord, you cannot adjust each ear piece separately...The one control is supposed to adjust the volume equally...
