This was the best artifact of the day - as dug - water rinse- lemon juice followed by water bath. This is one of the few I have dug with any gilt, our soil kills most of these buttons.

Great piece of Saved CW History on the Eagle Button. Great find.....even if it is a Yankee Button. Lol Well Done, and Continued Success.
 
OHHHH WOW. That baby cleaned up nicely. Look at all of that GOLD gilt still remaining after all them years.

Sorry about the Yankee part but this far North I have yet to find a single Confetrit piece :shrug:
