hello everyone, im new to the forum.i am going to bristol sunday, how can i find information on places to go detecting?i will be in bristol ten. on the line between n.c and ten. i live in piedmont s.c, and also is there any clubs in this area i can join to learn more about relic hunting , thanks for all the help......

It's kind of late to begin doing research on Bristol if you are leaving tomorrow or even next Sunday. As a starting point, I'd suggest you net work with whom you may be visiting to see if they might have friends with older residential houses or farms that might allow you to detect.

Being new to the hobby, PLEASE be aware that you must try to make target extraction as surgical as possible in a yard, park, or athletic field by using a proper sod cutting knife or trowel. Use a piece of cloth to put your processed soil on to make it easy to dump it back into the hole. Fold the three sided sod plug you cut back down into the hole so that when you leave, you can't tell you've recovered a target. Take all trash and treasure you find out with you for proper care / disposal.

In a field, you can use a shovel, but please fill in your holes .... and again, take the trash you dig off the field for proper disposal.

Remember, all property is owned by someone or some organization. Detect it only with permission or you may end up being fined or in jail. Good luck.
