Where do people lose valuables. I got a reminder today. Got home from work, got out of the car and was walking to the front door when I spot this very nice ring at the edge of the side walk. Pick it up, take it inside, kiss my wife hello and then ask if she lost anything. Nope! Showed her the ring and she says OH MY GOSH!!! Never felt it slip off. She was carrying a grocery bag, purse and trying to dial one of the kids on the cell phone while reaching for the door key. And of course, this one got returned to the owner, she was easy for me to find!

Hunt around doors, sidewalks and parking areas. Around concession stands and anywhere where people are reaching for things. I've done well around old cloths line areas too.
Cheers,

thats amazing, isnt it funny how we get an eye for things even when were not hunting? were always on the look for something to catch our eye. im glad you seen it. hh

Yes, the grassy areas right around parking lots can be hot spots for coins or rings. People reach in their pocket for their keys and when they pull their hand out the ring slides off without them knowing it. I've also wondered about hunting the edge of paved jogging trails in the park. I would think joggers have a good chance to throw a ring off their hand as the job. Anybody have any luck with that?

She is happy it did not get far. With her, the dog house is a good place to be; she sure loves her dogs! She does not complain about the detectors either (current count is 10), as long as she gets some of my time.

I have had some luck along jogging and bike trails over the last few years ... but it has all been clad, junk and silver so far. It has included several rings and one very nice heavy silver chain with a cross that was an eye spotting and not a detector find. The gold along those trails has been elusive.

It is interesting how detecting has helped increase the eye spotting of stuff on the ground.
