Locating Meteorites

Buddy555

New member
Greetings Fellow Searchers:

My name is Bill and I have been occasionally coin shooting since the early '70's. I have used Whites and Fishers. Now that I am older and hopefully wiser, I'd like to become a Meteor Man. Who has any knowledge or experience with the subject and can suggest the best device for the money to locate them?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill
I have hunted Meteorites a few times with little to no success with VLF units. I would use a Strong PI unit that can be used with both large unit mounted coils and also use towed units 3-4 meters, and a backhoe to dig them out. I have found a few small little ones in AZ while nugget shooting but they are few and very far between. I kind of gave up on them. I would use a good PI like the TDI, Infinium LS or another brand of the nugget shooting type. The beach PI machines are of little to no use on minerlized ground.
