With a buddy, Located a late 1840's gold mining ghost town this past Monday. We were heading to another gold mining town searching for relics and decided to take another route to locate this old ghost town I've been trying to locate the past two years.

With more information obtained the past year, We were able to drive near the ghost town in my buddies 4-wheel drive and from there hike to the same area an artist back in 1849 had drawn a pencil sketch of the old mining town. Took a picture of the actual site and below you'll see the same back ground mountains with same similarities, Allot of growth has taken place since the drawing but believe me the same back ground mountains from the drawing are there behind the bush and trees. We must have been standing only a few yards from the actual spot the artist completed this drawing back in 1849.

Later, A fire in the 1860's took out the town never to be rebuilt, This was the counties first county seat and an area of the 49-er gold rush era.

From there, We located the owner of the property asking for permission to enter into the old ghost town area. The owner was a really nice person who knew the history of his property and even gave us leads of other near-by areas of historical value such as the horse stables just out of the boundaries of his property. However, Due to his insurance and legal legalities he can not allow anyone to enter this area.

At least our wishes of finding the town are fulfilled, We can only image what lies underneath all that growth and surely it must be an abundance of old coins, relics and maybe even dropped gold nuggets?

Thanks for looking,
Paul
