Local park yields silver coin

I took Mama's car to the Ford place yesterday because they told me the detail guy wouldn't be there on Saturday and they made the appointment on Tuesday. I took my At/Pro and enough gear to dirt fish while they serviced her car and detailed it. When I got there, the lady informed me that she told me their detail guy wouldn't be there which was contrary to what she told me when I made the appointment. I had planned on 2 hours at the local park while they did the work instead of just sitting around like I usually do. When I asked her how long would it take to do the service I was told about 45 minutes and it wasn't worth my time or theirs to get them to drop me off at the park for that length of time. Rescheduled for Thursday and went to the park. Worked around the edges of the horse shoe pits and found some dimes and then went along the side and found the 10 centavos coin and I couldn't see without my loupe and thought it was a half dime. Mighty sore when I got thru and went and checked out another area I was told about and bought Mama's groceries and eye drops and came home. I had forgot to put the A/C on for her and she was hot temperature wise and mad as a wet hen. We have a new digital thermostat and with her being blind she couldn't set it to cool. Plus, I hadn't cooked anything for her because I thought I would be back by lunch. Good thing I hid the walking stick I got from the Sunbelt Expo or I might have got a whooping....I worked the tot lot and all it had was pennies and after 2 hours I was pretty sore. Hoped to go for at least an hour today, but my physical therapist added some weights to my routine and I was done for the day. Hope to hit the park again tomorrow while they service her car and detail it and I will take my digger tool with me because I popped shallow targets up to 2-3 inches deep, but got some real good hits about 5-6 inches deep and I want to hit them if I can. Photos aren't too good. HH.

Found a 50 pfenning coin from 1941 with the Nazi Swastika on it Thursday. Ford place didn't service the car Tuesday and because I mentioned they screwed up, they left me at the park from 8 am until 3:30 pm and were supposed to be back at 11 am. Put me in my place and I was too sore to go to physical therapy this morning. Plus, 22 other coins.

Kinda freaky huh? I found one of those Swastika coins last year. Nice score on the silver.

Good use of the time for detecting and some silver to boot. I am a Ford man myself, but I would have to consider seriously changing to another Ford dealership. HH jim tn

Sounds to me like you need to take mamma's walking stick with you the next time you go to the Ford house. That way you can clear off a nice chunk of the manager's desk and sit there, while you wait on them to fix her car. I bet it wouldn't take near as long! That's downright rude what they did to you.
Sorry they were jerks to you, but glad you scored some silver!

The Nazi coin turned out to be made out of zinc, but it's a great find to me anyway. I'm not in this for the money, but if money comes my way, I can always buy more detectors and stuff. I don't know what got into the Ford place. They have always treated me and my family great, but I intend to talk to the manager next week about it. I couldn't trust myself when I was angry but now that I'm calm, I will let them know how I feel about their terrible customer service.

It's still a cool coin. I'd love to find one too.
And you are right about waiting till you calm down before speaking to the folks at the Ford house. It would probably just make the situation worse if you had dog cussed them and spoke of their ancestors in a bad way.

Yep, Fongu you start digging about 100 coins a hunt, you won't need a physical therapist. lol

That would be a first for me Dancer. I've never had a century day, yet. Most I ever found was 80 coins in 2 hours when I first went to the river in November of 2012. The 8 weeks of therapy really helped me more than I thought and I was able to spend 2 hours doing some land hunting at our church today. Didn't find the survey rebar but enjoyed just getting out in the beautiful weather.
