Lobo Super Traq in trouble..

Yesterday I went for a hunt with my Lobo ST and after a couple of minutes this machine went crazy.
I was looking in the disc mode or all metal mode and after every 5 minutes more or less I got the same sound when you put on the machine. A long beep for about 4 seconds. I also had one time that there wasn't a connection at all. I think I have a problem in the battery compartment. Am I right?? Is this a huge problem, or easy to fix?
