lobo owners-some info needed

Andy here-just ordered a lobo to add to my arsenal expecting it in a few days-was wondering of any little tips/tricks for better hunting with from those using this machine.thanks

I had one for awhile. Never did any prospecting with it but it worked great for coin shooting I thought! Basic metal detecting operation. Real easy.

You didn't say if it was a Lobo ST or not but I had a couple of ST's in the past.---They were a good enough gold hunting machine.--I liked the tracking feature.--Had some trouble with hot rocks (as VLF's do).---They take 8 AA's (in holders) but I didn't like the fact they had wires with snap on connectors to the battery packs (not "drop ins").----I liked the fact it had a disc side on the machine (for hunting old areas you might come onto in the field while gold hunting) if you wanted to hunt for old coins or relics.---But I didn't like the pre-set G.B. on the disc side (G.B. in all metal doesn't carry over to disc.) & the pre set G.B. in disc DID NOT work well in some of the (nasty) ground I hunted in.------Overall though, as I stated, it's a good gold machine as you hunt in all metal but it wouldn't be my choice for a discriminator hunter (mainly because of the G.B. factor).----Hope this helps you a little. ---------Del

I may be wrong, but I think the plain Lobo would have been an older model, with the ST being the newer one, if there is a difference.

thanks all for the info -but like is says on the box "the name that means treasures".have only used it several times but when it says to dig ya better dig and have a shovel/pin pointer as this thing is capable of hitting small deep items.
