Lobo ground balalce

selectcase

New member
Hi
I have just bought an original Lobo without the auto ground balancing but the ground balancing knob appears very loose/easy to turn and has no stop. Iin other words it will just keep going round and round if that makes sense.

I was wandering if this was normal and if anyone can remember using one as its quite an old machine

many thanks

Does it have a point where it has a slight drag to it? Some have a drag as to a complete stopping point.

Here is the appropriate section from the manual.

GROUND ADJUST CONTROL. This control adjusts the All Metal mode sampling so that the Lobo ignores the normal ground mineralization. This control is a ten turn device, and it is sometimes difficult to feel when the end of the ten turn range is reached. The setting of this control is the most critical adjustment to do, but it is a very simple adjustment to make. Study the manual section TUNING and be sure you learn how to properly adjust this control.

P.S. if you are interested, I have both the concentric and wide scan small elliptical coils for this detector. I'd be happy to,sell them to you - cheap!

Here's the link for the Lobo, manual.

Thanks for the link to the manual - i did not realise it was around 10 complete revolutions end to end as I used to my goldmaxx - i used it tonight no problems but i will re try tomorrow - I may be interested in the coils but I am uk based and this model has the female connector on the coil lead side apparently?

thanks

The coils are 4 pin male connectors. This is for the original Lobo, not Lobo Super Trac.

I'd like $70 apiece for them and could ship them to the UK, actual charges would be extra. If you are interested, let me know. The coils are basically unused and have coil covers. PM me with your email address and I can send pix.

Yea its ten turns but it doesn't just STOP! it more like "Clutches" or just slips without making any farther adjustments. This multi turn adjustment helps to FINE tune it, on a single turn control the full range is in that one turn and that makes for a difficult fine adjustment. but on ten turns, the adjustment is actually more adjustable in the manner of FINE Tuning.

It would be good if you could post a pic here, particularly of the connectors, and note which other models these coils would suit.

Here's a pic. They fit only original Lobo - not LST or any other Tesoro model. I have been told by someone online that they will work on th Lobo Super Trac if the connectors are changed out for female 4 pin, but Rusty Henry at Tesoro told me that they wouldn't work - so who knows?

Hi Rick: Do you still have the Tesoro coils? I can offer you $ 100 for both.

Are you interested?

I want to do an experiment with them, see if I can make an adaptation.

Are you interested?
