Loaned out my CZ 70 to a boy today

kickback

I taught a young boy and his father some basics of metal detecting this evening.I left my CZ 70,spare batteries,a pair of Grey Ghost headphones and a new Lesch digger with him.The first 2 signals "we found " were coins. They're both hooked.I'm going fishing and detecting at my cabin for a week.I'll check back with them then. The boy picked up on pinpointing and good mechanics of his swing quicker than his dad.His father was dumbfounded there were coins in his yard. The house was built in 1934.I told them I expect to see some "goodies" upon my return.Their journey begins.

A very nice gesture on your part but the old saying is " no good deed goes unpunished" :) I just hope your $1000 machine that's out of production and all your other expensive equipment goes undamaged and is returned like you loaned it. I personally won't let anyone use my equipment after I did it once when I saw how it was being handled. I'm now always happy to show someone how it works, find a target to dig and let them find the coin, but they will have to buy their own since my machines are just too expensive and difficult to replace (CZ-70's)...JMHO I hope your time is enjoyable and productive :detecting:

If more people would help a young one in learning our chosen hobby...it would grow and grow.
Nice job !

I found a bad side to getting others started in detecting. I gave my brother-in law a like new CZ-70. When he got home he went to the beach in Monterrey. Five hours after I gave him the CZ-70 he called me from the beach to tell me about finding a large gold mans ring with diamond on top. He has not quit his bragging about hie skill with the CZ-70.

I agree with Christopher,I loaned a backup unit to my brother and it was returned with a battery plate missing.Everett the cover I got off of you was another story.Anyway there's too many things to go wrong with electronic equipment. Now when, Elton gets a new detector he's going to ship it to me and let me try it out for a couple of weeks.Later Ron
