I am growing to like this machine - today at 1st i was using it on high gain, in the red, and then switched to 1 gain and it seems with a slow sweep and low gain lots of junk just gets eliminated. and i have to say the GB mode really helps. found an erring but it was junk metal but was about 4.5" deep I tell you this machine just does not want to miss anything in its range of depth nice day 50,s sunny and light wind.

I really like my silver too. I see one problem. Your junk pile is not as big as Tabmans pile. You still find the goods. It was nice here in Indiana too. In the 50s. I hab a bunch of yard work to get done, so I did not get out. Glad you got out... KEN. Ind.

Gunnar it looks like you have the Silver µMax mastered. Its audio is sooooo sweet to listen to.

Have you tried the slow sweep trick with the 8" concentric? Was wondering how that would compare with your widescan sharpshooter? Thanks for the video's, always enjoy them.

Tone time , the 8" concentric is the same at slow sweep its surprising how much depth you get at only one gain, and yet the machine will loose the small junk pretty well unless a good pice of foil is right on the top , in which case its easy to remove, I think we gravitate toward high gain like its the best but low gain is capable of doing some great things , hay i like the racer but the racer will not do this and yet the silver can be cranked to a good gain level if you want to find some deeper things or smaller things--- Metal fun may be i can do a video on digging , - but what i try to do is on those nice grassy areas i 1st determine if the target is deep or shallow if the pinpointed is hitting it good its shallow no need for a plug i just make a slit and then poke the digger about 3" back and pry up and it splits open and most of the time i can just grab the target and pinch it back together and it has no chance of being kicked out like a shallow angled plug if I have to dig a plug i mke sure i get a deep cut and maybe a U shape and pray it back and put the dirt on the matt and remove the target and pack the dirt back in and then pound the plug down good so it makes contact with the surrounding wet ground or the grass may die and I have had no problem , where i see problems is with digging angeles shallow plugs they have a tendacy to get kicked out and grass die and grounds keeper pissft off tools needed 1 a leach knife. 2 and 18" wilcox trowel . 3 a good pinpointed . and a nice matt to place dirt on . and you should do well .
