Little weekend hunting

My son and I went to an old place that belongs to my brother over the weekend hoping to find some civil war relics.
I did find what looks like a button but not really sure it's about that size and there's a mark like something was broke in the middle of one side like maybe the piece that was used for thread to be attached to the coat.
But on the other side after we cleaned it up seems to be smooth with no design of any kind like an eagle but it seems to me I read somewhere at one time that some of the confederate troops buttons was plain due to funds them days but I could be mistaken.
Anyways I did find my oldest coin to date a 1900 v nickel so I was excited about that after we got home and I cleaned it enough to tell what it was.
Yes I know wasn't suppose to clean as much as I did but it's a keeper for me anyways.
I went there a couple years ago and found a 1936 wheatie in the same area so I feel this place maybe a good one but gonna wait til the fall to go back it's growed up real bad and I had 8 ticks on me when I got home so I can't deal with that right now.
I tried to take some pics of the coin but it's so bad can't make anything out when I take a pic so just thought I'd post my find and say I'm loving this mxt more and more as I'm learning it.

Way to go Rick! I bet it's a button for sure. And BIG congrats on that V nickel. Aren't those pretty! I wouldn't go back either until the brush was dying, I can't stand those ticks either. In fact, I might not even go back if it were me. That's how much I dislike those little bugs. Thanks for sharing and it's great to hear how much you're liking your MXT more and more. HH, Nancy
