Little silver coin spill .. :minelab:

While some of you guys down south are hunting parks with coin fountains that spew seated and bust coins into the air .. ... up here in the north woods we scrape by with whatever we can find. Silver dime and nickel came out of the dirt stuck together. Was pleasantly surprised to see it was a '42-S war nickel when I pulled them apart later at home. My first silver coin spill .. :detecting:

That's a neat find, congrats. Looks like an old tractor in the bush there, with steel wheels. Is it restorable?

Yes, a very old tractor. Could'nt tell you if it's restorable or not. Looks pretty happy where it's at though ..

Nice hunt Dave...and GREAT pics that tell the story:clapping:

Time to hit the sack now.

For cryin' out loud...I snuck in a 2 hour Harley ride today and I feel like I screwed up my whole schedule!

I have 6 private messages to answer on the forum and need to respond to some questions people have posted to my own threads...etc...but that will have to wait.:stars:

Back to the gym to work at 7:30 A.M....so this cat's getting some sleep:bouncy:

Really neat find Dave - and great video. I found a rosie and a war nickel together a few years ago - gave a pretty funky signal. How did yours read?
Bruce

Very interesting info, Chris. I would not have thought you could still find a seated coin in circulation in the 1920s...they are certainly VERY SCARCE here in OK.

(By the way, McDave, your "coin fountains spewing seated and bust coins into the air" comment was hilarious! :) )

If I remember correctly, it came in as a wheat penny with something else down there with it. They were stacked top to bottom, wheatie, nickel and dime on the bottom.

Thanks Steve. I knew someone would see the humor in it.
