Hit one of our old parks and ventured off to an area that we don't seem to get to all that often. Mostly because the roads get a fair amount of auto traffic, but being early decided to work the curb area in for a few yards. Actually dug a few more targets then has been the norm of late and 2 of them turned out to be silver dimes. 1, a 58d Rosie and the other a 34 Merc.
The Rosie was a bouncy signal, was getting 77/78-81/82 showing 6" deep on the depth meter. Dug down about 5" and found nothing in the clod. Used the pin pointer down in the hole and ended up recovering 3 wheat cents from the loose dirt in the hole. Checked the hole one last time and got another hit near the bottom of the hole off to the side a bit. That turned out to be the Rosie. Actually dug 2 other wheats. 1 for the picture shot was mixed in with the Memorial's. The 2 oldest wheats were 1918 and 1929. The Mercury was just a classic 83-84 from 4" deep. Had on the 11" coil and running pro zero and iron on and off. We are working our way into the 70's tomorrow. HH jim tn
