little gold

Found this gold quarter stater few weeks ago in England, North Thames British QC type, 14.32 mm, 1.36 g, approx 50 BC
using the X-70, reads a eight on the meter

What a great find! What is it worth? What coil do you use?

My mothers small fine gold ring also reads an eight(+:geek: on my X-70 meter. Unfortunately there is also alot of trash reading in the lower +plus numbers as well therefore we must go by sound--tone too. Look for solid tones from both or all sweeping directions, avoiding broken and chirping tones will help.

Was it stamped 50 BC on the coin? Heheha! My cousins wifes brother-in-law is an electrician in Scotland(UK) and he found about 100 old coins by accident while digging with a backhoe. The government took the coins. I think people are paid money by the government with the confiscation.

I can only dream of finding an old gold coin such as that. Amazing discovery. Congrats!!! HH Randy

That's a fantastic find David! Most of us would be thrilled to find a gold coin, but to find one that is dated BC is just Awesome!:clapping:
Congratulations.
Mick Evans.
