These are some observations which I have made, and wonder if anyone else has also made these observations, or whether I am wrong. Please feel free to disagree about this.
I find that my MXT in stable max output (+3) with the stock 9.5" coil will find quarters and silver dimes in my old test garden to a depth of 6" with Target Identification and to 7" with high pitch only (Relic mode, dual tone), no target I.D., or with wrong I.D. With the Accelerator 10X14 it goes to 8" with target I.D. and 10" with high pitch only, no targer I.D.
OBSERVATION: although the MXT is a meter machine, it appears that in Relic mode while coin hunting, we can add an inch or two in depth by listening to the pitch (instead of looking at the target I.D.meter), and simultaneously looking at the Depth Meter to see that the target is DEEP (more than 6 inches). Knowing the target is deep alerts me to know why and when the target I.D. is incorrect or blank. Relying on the high pitch will help me find some deep coins and other high value targets.
What say you?
