Lipstick case???

New member
I found the attached object this weekend at an old home site. It has a rounded end with, what looks like some type of structural ribs.. and a knurled flat end on the other. It appears to be hollow, but we could not unscrew the knurled end, so I am not sure if it actually opens. If it does open, I assume an old lipstick case?? It looks smaller than the ones I have googled... but I have no idea. Thanks

Hi brightj, I'm thinking it is in the family of vintage valve stem covers. Always thought that whenever I dug one but never checked to see. I did A simple search and it showed many similar to yours but none exactly the same. Anyway that may be give you an idea where to begin researching it. HH ,Charlie

If there are threads inside it, it would be an old valve stem cap. I have found many. Lipstick containers were not heavy duty metal, light metal.
