You have yet to ask a decent sensible question about the Explorer in such that, it may help you achieve the dismal depths, you say that you are getting.
That's NO poblem. Ask and hopefully you'll get an answer that is useful to you and maybe even to some others of us.
Stop trying to knock yourself or knocking others out on this matter and go and sell The 'PLODER and stop ya "bitchin".
The Exploder is one very versatile and also one very capable detector. So if you can't "cut it" and get satisfactory results, then what the heck, just move on.
I got to try out the Whites MXT the other day. It's not for me but, I have to admit my friend finds a lot with it and he just loves it. He had the "Exploder" for a week and just hated it or let's say more he did NOT like it.
He admires my ability to tolerate and use Exploder and I respect his choice(at least he let me try the MXT out).
So maybe after this you can go and "pick" on a car manufacturer or a computer manufacturer or give those guys on the New Treasure Depot OFF TOPICS forum a go instead. Maybe, they'd love to hear from someone like you and your brand of critisim more than it is appreciated here.
IMO, It would actually seem "fairer" game that what you are trying on some here and using up valuable discussion space.
By the way, it has taken ME a long time , but even I can appreciate constructive critism of such a matter as the Explorer's good and bad points.
And so far , my only real complaint about the Explorer XS is "when are they going to supply access to backhoe, as part of the deal when you use one. From the depth and type of stuff I have been finding lately, I think I could use one.
