Like to hear some thoughts on the X-12 /stock coil comparisons

I have been using the X-8 coil on my Explorer 95% of the time. And here's why. In my coin garden I have a 8.5" silver merc buried. This coin has been buried for 3 months. To me the X-8 responds with a stronger more consistent sound than the stock 10. I repeated this test 3 times, trying to understand why this is. I was expecting the stock coil to due much better. I now want to try the X-12. So here's a question for the folks that use the X-12. Will the X-12 excell the stock coil in depth? And also how is the seperation using the X-12 in mild thrash? Please jump in and help me with your thoughts and field experience. Jim TN

i only hunt the beach and damp sand and want a larger coil than the 10.5"............B U T
THE 15" WOT AND 12" SUNRAY ARE BOTH GOING TO BE CONCENTRIC COILS, NOT DOUBLE D LIKE THE MINELAB............CORRECT???
THANKS
BERT

Sounds like your test dime is either near iron or your ground is real hot. No question the stock should hit that coin stronger and at a better depth than the 8"
