Lightweight Explorer XS (modded)

Used 4 different detector manufacturers parts and #5 for the armrest cover and #6 for the protective face covering...Swung it yesterday for 3 hours ...no sore arm or back and worked like a charm at a local park, however only clad was found..

Originally modded by Keith Southern but added 1266 battery box and had to put two rods together to get the front long enough and also the back armrest area longer for better ergonomics.
Where rod were joined is coverered by the handgrip....

I'm on the lookout for a cheap Explorer to do that, if you put on the 11"pro coil or even the newer slimline it will make a big difference to the weight too.
Heres an Explorer 2 modded in a simlilar fashion

Although it was expensive and hard to find the 1266 battery box and stand really put the icing on the cake. From E-mails I received more than one Explorer mod out there and most make for a lighter and more ergonomic unit...making an excellent unit even better...
