Lighthouse's, Newburyport and Plum Island, Massachusetts #1

Newburyport is an old seaport town, and claims to be the birthplace of the U.S.Coast Guard. Since i've mentioned many times,my father was a career Coastie,I've always been interested in Coast Guard, lighthouse's,life saving stations, etc. This Lighthouse in located within a block of downtown Newburyport, and almost on the Merrimac river. Its also the higher part of a "Range". This is when two lights are used as an aid to navigation, such as entering a harbor,or inlet.to give a better visual of your bearings. In this case, this light,is much higher, than the front lighthouse,as you will see. Notice the rear of the lighthouse, being WHITE? Its actually the Front, remember its for vessels to see,not you in your car!:D Also notice the black pipe going up the center. It was installed a few yrs ago to support the light.
