LIGHTEST BEST METAL DETECTOR

onbrake

New member
Whats the best lightest and deepest metal detector out there.Looking for my third unit the other two XLT and Minelab are both to heavy for long hunts.looking for 3lbs or under.please don't bring up Bounty Hunters.price is not a factor.I all ready have 2 great machines used for different applications.Coin hunting is all I do mostly land but some beach.Been metal detecting for 6 years love it but would love it more with alighter machine that works good on coins.

Tesoro Vaquero or Tejon.

As what was suggested the Tejon is the best Tesoro I have ever used. The Shadow X5 also is one of the best light weight detectors out there, but these have to be got used as they are no longer being made. Neither of these have a meter though. Another one I have the privilege of using was the Teknetics T-2 as this is a very powerful detector and easy to adjust and to swing for a long period of time. I have seen this detector pick out some coins that were deeper in some trash the Explorers missed. There will be a new Fisher F-75 coming out soon that suppose to be a improvement over the T-2 and I have one on order to try when spring rolls around being I was so impressed with the T-2 as it got me more coins in the time I used it than any other detector last year, even got a gold ring and a 1853 California Gold token less than 1/2 the size of a dime at around 7 inches deep.
Check out the Teknetics T-2 forum on this web site.

Onbrake,OK,Both light and deep. The Ace is light and well balanced, but the Fisher 1236x is almost as light and has a lot more depth. There's a reason people use these and excel in compitition hunts. Its simple and works, pinpoints dead on and is fast.If its belt mounted it's lighter and deeper.
