Can anyone identify and/or date this? I didn't get a pic of it but the the case is split--manufactured that way but distorted now-opposite the hinge. Thx.

Hey Rich, Just about positive it's a match case. Looks burnt though? Does it look like it went through a fire to you? Anyways, I put it right around 1900 - the teens or early twenties. Cherubs and naked kids were in, around that time. Art nouveau is around that time period too, I believe. Even has the match striker on the bottom. There is another name for those cases, (the proper one), but it escapes me. Anyone else remember what it is, please let us know (it's killing me). Great find. I haven't heard of anyone else finding one except you and me. HH.
