lighter handle for steel pro scoop

this is a empty fiber class handle (much lighter that the wooden handle i have seen in some pics here) got it in home depot it was attached to a small rake ...cut it on the bottom and found that there is a wooden plug inside (check pic) but still the hole in the scoop was to big to make it tight in there so i cut the dandle to what ever lenght i want it the cut out another small part of the fiber glass ..opened it up on one side raped it around the bottom and what do u know it fits nice and snug (had to force it in then just drill and i put some small wooden plugs around to make sure it will not get any movement later

i probably would not know hot to do it from this explanation but i think the pics will help

if i seal the the wooded plug with some silicone maybe it will float

i like it

pretty kewl job for sure..............yet another winter project.

i will still stick with the wood for the waves and water, but very interesting set up.

thanks for the insight...........always good to learn and consider other options
