Liberty (seated) celebration on July 4th!!!:jump:

We detected an older rental house with a scraped front yard on Sunday. Apparently, it had been previously hunted but we agreed that it was worth a shot. It's true nothing is ever "hunted out"...

I found this 1853 Seated with Arrows and Rays Quarter using the 5" coil down about 6 inches in the parkstrip. My first Seated Coin and a very early date for this area!

I'm thinking the house was built between 1890-1900 but the neighboring houses date as far back as the 1870's.

Wow Lisa, that is a beauty!! Just think, it had been lost for 2/3 of our nations history. A Seated quarter is still on my wish list. Well done.

Lisa--just like dave5710 said, this is also on my wish list! Nice find!

I love working "worked sites", especially when they have been scraped down a bit.

The 5" coil works well, especially in trashier sites or limited space such as parking strips. Which model was it mounted on?

I trust you'll find more good sites this summer.

Thank you Monte! I have the 5" coil mounted on an original T2 which has the updated programming. I forget which version that is now, I sent it in last spring for soldering a loose connection and handgrip replacement. While Teknetics had it, I also got the software update and water resistant upgrades. I really like using this coil and rarely hunt with the stock coil anymore.

Since I have the 10" concentric and 5' DD for my Omega, it gets used the most with the smaller coil. Having the T2, and knowing the goods and bads of different coils, I can appreciate the fact that you're running the 5". In quite a few places I find the stock 11" DD just a bit too large. Besides, I really love using the smaller-than-stock coils most of my life ...and that's been a while. :detecting:

All the best of success to you!
