Letter Sealer??

doublet2a

New member
Used the dime for size
This thing weighs 22 Grams
Definitely not a kids toy
Appears to made of bronze??
Fits perfectly between your thumb & forefinger
like to seal a wax letter guard??
The end piece is separate from the bell, and looks like something that was carved,
and added to the end of the end
Any ideas????????

Thanks for lookin

P.S. Does anybody else notice that the letter "L"
when you create the post is upside down
but when you post it it's right side up???:thumbdown::stars:

The added on bit could be soft stone (or something else) that was carved with the "seal" or the added on bit could be a chunk of stuck on sealing wax. Hard to tell from your scans, but definitely a seal. I'm guessing 1840-1870 period?
