Let's try and guess the name of the replacement of the GTI 2500.

Guessing specs can go on forever. We can speculate all day long if the GTI feature is discontinued. Either way somethings new from Garrett will inevitably put the GTI series out to pasture. I am guessing Garrett will bring back the Master Hunter name with some nostalgic honor to the Master Hunter series. In the end we may get a new AT PRO. But the GTI technology is getting very long in the tooth.
I'm talking a long tooth that looks like someone has a telephone pole sticking out of their mouth.
Who knows

Anyone care to play the name guessing game of Garret's new high end machine. I mean technically rage GTI 2500 is Garret's flag ship.

Jason I LOVE my 2500! I don't care how long that tooth gets. I've thought of the replacement too maybe something between the 2500s features and the Pros performance (and weight).
Maybe also wireless

Whatever Garrett does, it's gotta have visual imaging showing both the depth and sizing. Humble opinion, something lighter like the AT Pro with the addition of imaging would be my choice.

When I first got my GTI 2500, I dug everything -- just to see how accurate the imaging was. It was excellent. I learned to trust it. Now, when looking for coins or small relics, I don't bother with the "large" images down deep. (They'll be there if I want to go back to them later.)

By contrast, I can go out with the Teknetics Gamma. It's a fine detector. But I will be digging a lid at 10 inches because it targeted just like a coin at 4 inches. Would never have done that with the GTI.

The main issue with the GTI is the weight. Ouch on the arms and shoulders. With the Gamma, I can swing all day with no sweat.

Also -- how about dual frequencies, so we can have a better salt elimination mode?

Garrett listening?

Cheers,

Joe
