Let's say that the " DFX 2 " is ready to go Spring 2007............

......... for the sake of arguement. If this is the case and I'm fully convinced it is.........that would mean that the new DFX 2 would be in production right now!!! You would most surely need time to produce stock for Spring sales; and most likely those would be in production right now, so that there would be stock to ship in Spring when the orders begin to roll in. I'm looking forward to spring!!!!!!!!!!

IF, and I say ... IF ... there is going to be a DFX-II, DFX Series 2, DFX Plus, DFX Pro, DFX Pro Plus or any other name assigned to a new and improved DFX-ish model, they could still be working on it right up until they are about to release it.

It might be finalized, so far as R&D is concerned, but since White's does such a high percentage of their production 'in-house' they are not that dependant on timing from out-sourced suppliers like some manufacturers are.

They wouldn't have to have a big supply of them in-stock-and-ready-to-go like you would think. If they planned to start shipping on a Thursday of a given week, they could get a production run kicking them out ready-to-ship on Tuesday and Wednesday and be just fine.

They've sure been quiet on their project(s) of late so a lot of us are hoping it will truely be something new and performance driven.

....Whites can turn at a moments notice...on a dime!!! Very impressive, who says American technology is dead!!! Makes me appreciate mine all that much more. Invest in the best invest in the US!

they can set up production and time the release date very near the date a model comes out of production all finalized and ready to ship. They don't really need to have weeks or months of production to stockpile a warehouse full of ready-to-go models.

Not that they can't or don't have a few ready for the release, just that they are automated and a quality-run outfit that does the planning.

My thoughts and opinions, of course, since I am not a White's employee. Just relating some of the times I have been able to check out a particular model, or get a particular model on the day they come out of production. Those experiences go back to when the first 6000 Di Pro's came out of production on a Wednesday in mid April 1985.

There are many reasons why I have been and am a "White's Fan."

Whites has produced detectors that don't fall apart , like the Australlian variety, give excellent performance in a broad range of conditions, with ease of use, and even hold their value. What's there not to like??
