I was wondering how people are doing finding silver coins. I have collected 25 pieces this year. 2 half dollars 6 quarters 13 dimes and 4 wartime nickles.

Hey nw1886 it sure must be nice to have to "roughly estimate" the number of Merc's you've found so far this year. JK I know what you mean about there being more excitement and satisfaction from an old coin as opposed to a piece of jewelry ( well kind of since I've found so few old coins ) but when I find a really old piece of jewelry, I feel the same excitement.nw1886 said:I've been hunting mostly modern sites (so very little silver). But....in older dirt, I've been able to pull up 1 Barber Half, 1 Barber Quarter, 1 Standing Quarter, 1 Seated Dime, 10 to 15 Merc's and only 1 Roosevelt. (My work hours keep me close to home so modern jewelry has to be what my hunts are mostly about.) It's funny but I get more enjoyment from an old coin than jewelry?
Still needing to make time to get to some old dirt! (Not silver but found my first Flying Eagle Cent last week!)
