However a life was taken. Justified or not, we are a society of law abiding citizens with a set of laws in place for the good of the majority. The old concept of a Mans Home is his castle does, and does not come in play on a situation like this....
The key here is did she feel her life was in danger, and or her childs which is at her total preservation.. I would say yes it was justified.. But, were there other options for her to use.
It will be up to the Prosecutor to decide if prosecution should be brought. It will be up to the Grand Jury if prosecution is pursued to return a true bill, or not... I would think a no bill would be returned.
Next you have civil rights issues that come into play.............. That is a whole new look at the situation, and truthfully it may not go the way we all think it should.................
Now we need to hear the story of the guy who turned himself in.......... Was everything exactly as she said it was............. Why was she so intent on shooting the guy........... She did ask that question several times to the dispatcher who certainly can not give that type of permission............. So intent was evident on her part from the get go.........
Not everything is as cut and dried as it first looks................ Was shooting the only option ?????............. is there things we don't know ??????????
Even when a police officer uses deadly force it has to be justified................... My first impulse is " good for her " he got what he deserved............ If all the facts show this was true..... Hooray for her........... Remember we do need to maintain law and order.............. It's the American way........ Death is either natural causes, accidental, Manslaughter with exceptions, JUSTIFIABLE HOMICIDE or Murder..the willful taking of anothers life. ......................
