Let's get our pets involved in metal detecting

This is a time of year when the playgrounds are usually without children. That gives me a chance to hunt playgrounds that were too crowded earlier in the year.

That's what I did today. The one I went to is a well established small neighborhood park in a lower middle class part of town. I really thought I might find some nice jewelery. Well may be next time.

I hunted the pea gravel playground with my Euro Sabre. The ground balance was set from the sand filled park I hunted yesterday. I didn't need to tune it at all.

I found $1.05 mostly pennies and some jewelery and a bunch of interesting trash.

Pookie wasn't very interested in my finds at first.

But as time went on he became more interested

I think something caught his eye.

That's my little adventure for today. I hope you enjoyed our pets,

I usually take our little dog with me (big dog is old and don't walk well) but the little dog always competes when I'm digging. Always have to have her paws and nose in my digging and she growls, snarls and digs in like all get out. She usually runs back and forth while I'm swinging the coil snarling her teeth nearly up against the coil but never actually bites it. I see people lots of times standing there watching and laughing. Sometimes when starting to dig I have move back as the dirt goes flying - then I have to fix the hole when I can get her out of the way. That's not always easy to do, as soon as my hand approach the hole, she attacks and wants to dig in more - like there's a squirrel or something in there.
She is so nutty and fun to be with that she has become part of my detecting gear.

Looking at that great feline just says no way..You couldn't get that cat to chase a mouse..
Me thinks you have "spoiled her"..Like I have mine.... LOL So just love her and you do the detecting LOL..hahahhaha

This is Grace, 3yr. old lab mix we adopted. Have not taken her out detecting yet but when I come back from being out she follows me around sniffing me like crazy, very funny.
