I am not saying the 705 is no good. Far from it.
I am not a button pushing knob turning techie. I still enjoy this hobby as I did when I first started. I want a machine that I can setup one day and turn on and go hunting the next day. Noise, GB, and sens. are quick to adjust on the X-Terra 70. You can most times, hunt all day with only hitting the tracking once in a while. Quiet and stable machines, the X-Terras.
Now comes the new and improved what? They advertised enhanced depth. Our own Andy S. just a day or so ago said there is no improvement on depth. OK, NO BIGGY How about Faster, as advertised? Nope, they didn't speed up the processor. The target is still way back there Know what I mean?
The 705 will take the place of the 70. There will be guys like me and guys like the pros. And they'll smooth out the wrinkles and the 705 will be the great little machine the 70 is now.
Don't be afraid to buy one, if it's your first X-Terra. but if you already own the 70. I'd call it good.
I'm no engineer, just a regular guy out hunting for old goodies. So what do I know.
This is just one mans opinion after a long day in the field.
