Less detection depth

Hi all,

I would like to ask you whether it is true or not that if I buy etc. (a GT from US) it has less detection depth when used in EUROPE because of the ground settings?
Does it make any sense or not?

Your answers or observations will be highly appreciated!:)

Thanks in advance!
T.

I dont imagine it would make any difference, otherwise UK dealers would be stressing the difference in their ads to discourage you from importing one.
I know that one of the Laser or Tesoro detectors ( cant remember which one) has a supposedly "European" version tweaked specifically for European soil/mineralization and its certainly mentioned in any ads Ive seen for it, so I imagine it would be the same for the Sov' if there was any advantage in a Euro version...could be wrong though.

Even the preset balance should be the same on all Xs, Elites, etc irrespective of where they were purchased.

about the European ones having more depth than the ones built for the USA as they had a different crystal in them. What it was discovered was that the crystal was for the different freq needed for the electrical interference in some areas and not for the depth as it seem to make no difference for those that changed the crystal.
I feel that the depth should be the same, but like it was said it may not be as stable in some areas where the electrical interference will give some problem.

Bring your older Minelab Sovereign over to the U.K. and you will get less depth as it will suffer from interference from Navy transmissions. Minelab will re chip these machines and I think it basically just skips over the problem frequency so you don't hear the constant pulsing. Later machines with noise cancel can deal with the problem with no trouble.
U.K. Tesoros worked better than the U.S. ones as the lower range of discrimination was opened up much wider. This made it far easier to apply an exact amount of discrimination rather than an average amount and less discrim. a little more depth.
